Counts use the downscale-grid cells with both an issued forecast and its bilinearly sampled native baseline. “Little change” means within ±0.5°F. Counts describe forecast adjustments, not verified improvements.

Forecast change and verified improvement

Both sides use the same issued cycle, statistic, and exact forecast start/end times. The native side retains its original grid footprints. The adjustment view compares the downscaled forecast with the matching native forecast bilinearly sampled onto that same 2.5 km grid.

URMA daily extrema and official station climate-day observations have different valid windows from these forecast tiles. Those records are not substituted into the map as matching truth. Grid-space gains remain unscored until a matching verification analysis is available; the station report is linked separately.
