Reading your forecast brief…

A little perspective before your day begins.

How your brief is assembled

“Today” and “tomorrow” use each station’s local time zone. Temperature medians and 10–90% member ranges come from the latest recorded reference distribution in the station cards, at their stated 12Z decision cutoff. These ranges are raw ensemble spread, not calibrated confidence bounds.

The latest model table uses the station feed’s recorded guidance, with each initialization shown. Different model daily-window conventions can produce differences; the table is descriptive and is not used to pick a winning model. Observations or forecasts withheld by quality control do not enter the recent-error summaries.

Recent NBM high/low errors use accepted official station observations and recorded one-day forecasts over the preceding 30-day window. Sample counts are shown independently. Rainfall diagnostics use the latest eligible 24-hour NDFD forecast and the published, provisional URMA analysis in the 50-mile neighborhood; they are not station-gauge totals.

Favorites are saved only in this browser. A shared brief includes a city list, not an account or automatic email subscription. Every card links to the underlying verification and grid explorers.
